Patience

Well, I could say I loved the fairy girls' emerald green gown so much I wanted it up for 5 days...but that wouldn't be the truth!  I'm still trying to dig out from a frantic weekend VSNing over at SCS.  There were 18 challenges spread over two days and I did have an empty house, but after 11 completed, I had to say...I need couch time.  And that was the end of it.

I did have a wee bit of time this morning to work on the Color Challenge.  A yummo combo of sherbet colors that I put to good use.  I need an encouragement card for mailing today and here it tis.  Cornish Heritage Farms Saturday Evening Post's vintage butterflies paired up with Basic Grey's Ambrosia and SU's kiwi kiss and summer sun.  Got your sunglasses?

Have a super day...

party gown

I fell in love with this adorable fairy girl in her party gown, compliments 'Instant Memories' Birthday clip art book.  It seemed perfect for the LSC challenge on SCS to use green designer paper and limit your layers and embellishments.  I also wanted to honor Darla Ryan in a Twisted Sistah Challenge to case a card from her gallery, plus it tis her b-day!

Tonight is VSN...got the day off, hubby is on a two day fishing weekend and DS, Andy is off to Scouting weekend.  It doesn't get any better than this...

Righteousness

I have been so blessed by the His Holy Names challenge in just the few weeks of the new year.  I am using Kay Arthur's "Lord, I want to know you" Bible study to augment my knowledge.  This February 15 challenge is no exception.  The word is Righteousness.  In Hebrew that word is Jehovah-tsidkenu. One thing that was especially dear to me is that GOD had a plan, a way to redeem all mankind from the effects of Adam and Eve's original sin.  To take my black, foolish heart and write HIS precepts upon my heart and make me whole, fresh again.  It just requires me to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Which I do with all of myself.

I love this scripty heart stamp from Michelle Ward (Stampington).  It seemed perfect to go with my scripture from Jeremiah.  Once again this 6x6 page is a hybrid word with alot of the printing done in Photoshop.  I am seriously enjoying learning my way around PS as I create.  Kind of like me, a balance of external and internal.  The scripture page lifts up and has the Third Day Worship song, "Your Love Oh LORD" printed on striped paper (making the WT challenge of stripes).  I saved room writing personal observations there also.

Thanks so much for commenting and standing with me on this journey.  Be blessed

Rainbows over you, God's Blessed Vow

Don't know about you, but I am thrilled every time I see a rainbow and still remember the very first time I saw a double one!  I used Stamps Happen's wonderful  Umbrellas for my focal.  And colored the umbrellas in the order of the titled saying.  That's the way I taught my sons how to remember the colors in the rainbow.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.   The little box for today's challenge on SCS was perfect for a treat for my son.

The sun's shining today and there are hints of spring in the air.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

for my chandelier lovin' friend

When I checked today's featured stampers gallery, I couldn't help but zero in on her gorgeous chandelier card to case.   I'm long overdue sending a thank you to my personal enabler (oops, I meant friend).   We've traded chandelier cards back and forth and will finally get to met in person at the end of this month!!!  I hope you like it, Amy.   I thank you for your generous RAK...hoping the muse returns and I'll swing open wide those doors.

Have a blessed Sunday and I'd love to hear how your sweeties were good to you!  My DH treated me to a pedicure and dinner at our favorite bar-b-que joint (and it is a joint]!  We celebrated 22 years and are still in love, that comfortable, dependable, deep love.

enjoy the direction

It's my DH's birthday today...he's getting to the age where the added years are just not as exciting as when we began!  Those milestones are adding up and while the mind still frolics, the body is a whole 'nother story!  How does that happen?  So I thought I'd take a light-hearted approach and remind him not matter what road he's traveling...it always better to enjoy the journey!

This Artistic Outpost 'adventure' plate was the perfect choice.  I wanna always be as free as a dog with it's head out the window, feeling a breeze on my face!  I love you, my generous, kind, long-suffering husband!  You're still the one no matter how old you "B"!

little hearts and dinner

I am so behind on my Valentines...don't know about you, but the day of LOVE has snuck (it that a real word) on me this year!  I've been waiting to use all my funny and lovely hearts shaped images,  and I'm sure I won't get them all inked this time 'round!  Yikes!!!  I did manage to create a card for DS today using the SC at SCS.

Those Inkadinkadoo Kid's quotes are just the best!  They remind me of the Art Linkletter TV show, "Kids' say the darnest things".  Precious!  I used one today to create a Valentine card for DS.  He has such a tender heart for children and I know he will appreciate this one.  I used a bit of cello bag to hold the hearts suspended in the jar.  They are from the Martha confetti heart punch.  I have more details on  my gallery .

I am still smiling at the thought of the dinner I shared with my SCS/cyber friend, CAKath last night.  She was in town for business meetings and we arranged to meet up in the REAL world!  Oh, my, it was as though we had always been friends, so many different things we share.  We talked about art, life, dreams, and goals for hours and were the last patrons in the restaurant.  It was a most delightful time...I feel closer than ever to her and can only look forward to meeting up again.  And I won't hesitate to have her spy on big DS on his Spring trip to Southern Cali!!!

So how are all you gals doing on your Valentines...hope you are 'aheart' of me!!!  Be blessed today and always.

my advice to you

I'm feeling lighthearted today...the day of lovvvvve is rapidly approaching and I want to be ready!  No, I didn't marry for money, just  the man of my dreams and he's still the one after all these years (he'll be singing this song to me all week).  And he brings me white chocolate turtles (I don't eat the brown stuff)

My beauty for the CC over on SCS today is a huge Stamps Happen stamp that I've patiently waiting to use...hope you like what I've done.  I wrote a fun commentary on my gallery entry if you need a chuckle today...it's about bosoms and my early memories!  I would love to hear if I am unique in this!

Have a wonderful day wherever you may be.

Health Peace and Sweet Content be yours

Today's Limited Supply Challenge was right down my alley, to use only a sentiment stamp.  I am fond of this Shakespeare quote  from Wordsworth stamps.  And today I am rejoicing with a friend who has come out of three weeks in ICU!  And into a regular hospital room.  The road to recovery is going to be long, but I am so very thankful for these improvements in her health.  And I know she has that contentment that can only come from the Lord.

Our health is our greatest treasure.  Guard it well, my dear readers.

keeper

It's February...the month of love and anniversaries and birthday's in our family!
My DH thought it would be too cool (and celebration economy) to get married
on Valentines' Day!  Plus his birthday is just a few days before.  I decided that
this cute fishin' theme plate, from  Artistic Outpost would make the perfect
Valentine's card.   He's been a fisherman since a wee boy and it is his passion.
We both understand about the 'need' (HA, HA, HA) to have just the right
lure (stamp) to catch  (design) the BASS.  Fishing season begins the end of this
month...in fact, the exact weekend for SCS's next Virtual Stamping Weekend .

How totally cool is that, an empty house to create, stamp, and play, and DH
away on the water, fishing to his hearts content!  And DS away on a snow camp
with the Scouts...I'm gonna be one fortunate girl!  I hope some of you can play
along!

If you'd like more details on my card today, check it out in the SCS gallery

Editing to add, I have no idea how the formatting is askew...so sorry!

puttin on the spritz

Happy Sunday, hope wherever you are, it's been a day for relaxing and connecting with family and friends. I can't help but think what a thoroughly modern family we are...youngest son texting oldest who is away on a retreat and connecting on facebook while the home phone rings and Dad's on his laptop...only our cat appears relaxed!!! In fact, she doesn't have a care in the world. I mean, she's warm and cozy snuggled in her favorite chair in our family room. I think I need to go pet the cat...

Who would be thoroughly agitated by my card for the Featured Stamper on SCS today...yep, she'd be in high gear chasing the mouses!  I had a lot of fun creating this card, even with all the layers.  If you'd like more specifics, have a look at my commentary in the gallery here!

Have a great day, no matter what finds you!
