another piece of the world...

It's been a very long time since I've hung around the Moxie Fab World, but I have to admit I couldn't resist the challenge Cath issued recently on  Get Inspired Week.   I've loved globes all my life and confess they're another thing that I collect.  Both the kind that are scattered on shelves around my house and red rubber images.  So it was fun to ponder which one to use on my card.

Recently my son asked if he could give a card I had given him to his Geography teacher.  How dear is that???  It had been another SplitCoast
Stampers sketch challenge card, YOU add.  I knew that I would have to repeat the theme as he so generously gave his away.  (That's a lesson there for me...)  Today over on SCS, the sketch challenge SC362 was perfect to
spotlight the I Brake for Stamps standing globe and the Sizzix puzzle die.
I used some very old map dp, Heidi Swapp map tape and the wonderfully vintage
My Mind's Eye Stella Rose 'Hattie Buddies' double sided paper.

Now while my son is sitting in class exercising his gray matter, I'm thinking that
no matter how far flung his life takes him,  I just have to give one of those globes
a spin and the memories will fill my heart...

EYEing you...

I adore Inkadinkadoo's Kid's Quotes line of sentiments...out of the mouth of babes so to speak.  And this one from Cameron Koch, age 4 paints such a picture in my mind!  Can't you just image a pair of glasses with springs on the lenses, going boing, boing, bong back and forth?  So when I saw the  Moxie Fab World  Tuesday Trigger with it's colors, textures, and shapes...an idea was born.

I used Stamp Francisco's optical lenses image placing tiny hearts over the eyes and then using UTEE to make the 'glass'.  The cupcake liners in the challenge photo inspired me to crimp my pink/orange panel.
along with the white scalloped felt edges.  I added the pretty gold ribbon for a bit of elegance of that scrolled paper.  PTI's Sweet Blush is the card base.

The layout is Card Patterns Sketch Pattern 101.  My friend, Amy Tsuruta  inspired me to give the sketch a try.  I must admit, I find sketches intimidating!  I am thankful for her encouragement.

 Love or hearts on your project.

Last week I mentioned that my husband and I will celebrate 24 years of wedded bliss on Valentine's Day.  Well, Cameron's quip is exactly right...my husband will look up at me and that connection still
leaves me 'twitterpated'!  MY eyes turn into little hearts for him.

I can remember when I was little and would be in a sulky mood, my mother would always say, "there goes Susan with a black cloud right over her head."  I am so glad I can choose to be positive, to see the Silver lining in all the clouds and know it is within me to be joyful!

Pam's challenge today over at 365 Card Blog was a sing-a-long, with Jason Maraz's Rainbow Connection.  I couldn't wait to ink up this awesome Wordsworth Rainbow Swoosh.  My card also happens to fit with the SCS Inspiration Challenge,  lovely packaging, of which I picked this box of chocolates.  I designed the bottom to include punches as the fun gals at Our Creative Challenge issued a call for border punches.  I used SU scalloped punch and a Marvy 3/4 circle punch.

Now if you think about it, doesn't the sight of a rainbow just bring a smile to your face?  It

is a reminder of a covenant promise...I am grateful indeed!

little hearts and dinner

I am so behind on my Valentines...don't know about you, but the day of LOVE has snuck (it that a real word) on me this year!  I've been waiting to use all my funny and lovely hearts shaped images,  and I'm sure I won't get them all inked this time 'round!  Yikes!!!  I did manage to create a card for DS today using the SC at SCS.  

Those Inkadinkadoo Kid's quotes are just the best!  They remind me of the Art Linkletter TV show, "Kids' say the darnest things".  Precious!  I used one today to create a Valentine card for DS.  He has such a tender heart for children and I know he will appreciate this one.  I used a bit of cello bag to hold the hearts suspended in the jar.  They are from the Martha confetti heart punch.  I have more details on  my gallery .  

I am still smiling at the thought of the dinner I shared with my SCS/cyber friend, CAKath last night.  She was in town for business meetings and we arranged to meet up in the REAL world!  Oh, my, it was as though we had always been friends, so many different things we share.  We talked about art, life, dreams, and goals for hours and were the last patrons in the restaurant.  It was a most delightful time...I feel closer than ever to her and can only look forward to meeting up again.  And I won't hesitate to have her spy on big DS on his Spring trip to Southern Cali!!!

yes, it stinks

I love my card for todays challenges on both SCS and PCP.  For the Ways to Use it, envelopes and the 12day7 black and white and a pop of color, I was able to create a get well card with a twist!  It does stink to be sick, especially when you are 13!  So to my dear sweet son, I hope last night was the worst and you are on the mend.  I want you back in the game, on the field, in the dojo, on the Christmas tree lot, singing at church, rolling 'round the rink, improving with the rest of 'em,  and even turning pages in a school book!  I want you WELL!
