jump on in...

We sent our youngest son off to yet another camp yesterday. This makes his fourth of the summer. Oh, to go too! But instead, I'll just slip this in the mail today. With a 5'er for a last day mocha concoction.

This card fits this bill for the Limited Supplies on SCS to use a die-cut on your card, only stamping as a background and the 365 Card Blog, Tag You're it! I love the Snorkel paper from Cosmo Cricket...using the fish (School's Out) and the Jump On in sticker mounted on one of their buck naked buttons! The life buoys are also a sticker. The ocean waves from the K&Co Daydreams group were hand cut. I slipped &D's tag amongst the waves. The kickstand card is on GP white cs. The Stampin Up background cheesecloth was inked with Adirondack latte. I finished it off with a yellow ribbon that says fun in the sun!

Hope you've got plans to jump right in to whatever strikes YOUR fancy! I know I do.

El Roi...the God who sees

Don't you just love when the muse is there and everything flows from a idea to reality?  That's what happened today in creating this 6x6 page for the His Holy Name challenge.  I have been studying this attribute of the Lord for almost a week now and was once again, impressed with the care and concern the Lord has for every bit of my life.  Since this is a personal scrapbook I am making this year, I figured it was time to include a photo of myself.  The fact that the Lord knows every day of my life till HE takes me home, gives me profound comfort.  And I kept coming back to these verses in Psalm 139.  No matter where I go,  I can never be lost from HIS presence.

The Limited Supply challenge on SCS today was to use the color of water, 3 brads, paper piercing and fibers on your card.  I believe I stuck to the recipe.  You can find all the details here

Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate how you see my art.

in focus

Happy Friday, people!  Why is it with a Monday holiday, the week still seems to be endlessly long?   At least, it feels that way to me!  I am focused on getting a thank you card in the mail to my vision benefit provider who after much prodding from me, went the extra mile.  In this world of impersonal electronic messaging, I think a colorful, on point thank you is in order!  This card also fulfills two challenges today, the 365 Card Blog to make something with the word "EYE" on it and the Limited Supplies Challenge over on SCS...only 1 1/2 piece of white cs and only patterned paper, no coloring, limited embellishments!

I hope your weekend is filled to the brim with all your favorite people and activities.  I know mine will be!

another road trip

~~~ down memory lane, to the very first time I saw the Golden Gate Bridge.  It was 1981 and I had come to Northern California on business.  It was July, I had to make a stop in Berkeley for warm clothes...purple cords and a sweater.  And I, forever, identified with Mark Twain, when he said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco". Needless to say, I froze sitting at the North Tower vista point hair in my face from the wind and fog.   I've loved that bridge ever since, reading books about the construction, walked over it, sailed under it, driven over it more times than I can count and of course, photographed it.  So today, I add another, create a card to honor it!
The Friday challenge on SCS is limited supplies...today Judy issued a call for create a card that celebrates some occasion in May.  When I saw the Golden Gate opened in May of 1937...I just knew I had to ink up the Inkadinkadoo image with Tim Holtz's distress ink in Spiced Marmalade!  You can find other details over in my gallery.
Happy Friday, all!  Another full weekend with Babe Ruth games, Mother's and our special day!
party gown
I fell in love with this adorable fairy girl in her party gown, compliments 'Instant Memories' Birthday clip art book.  It seemed perfect for the LSC challenge on SCS to use green designer paper and limit your layers and embellishments.  I also wanted to honor Darla Ryan in a Twisted Sistah Challenge to case a card from her gallery, plus it tis her b-day!
Tonight is VSN...got the day off, hubby is on a two day fishing weekend and DS, Andy is off to Scouting weekend.  It doesn't get any better than this...
Health Peace and Sweet Content be yours
Today's Limited Supply Challenge was right down my alley, to use only a sentiment stamp.  I am fond of this Shakespeare quote  from Wordsworth stamps.  And today I am rejoicing with a friend who has come out of three weeks in ICU!  And into a regular hospital room.  The road to recovery is going to be long, but I am so very thankful for these improvements in her health.  And I know she has that contentment that can only come from the Lord.
Our health is our greatest treasure.  Guard it well, my dear readers.
only you
OUR anniversary is coming up on Valentine's Day...yep, I married a romantic man...a long board surfer dude from the '60's...who sings to me and loves me still after all these years.  He's been the keeper of my dreams when I couldn't carry them and then given them back to me,  blown on the winds of kindness.  He is truly my soul mate.  I can close my eyes, think of him and my heart flutters.  He has made our DS's the sweetness that they are.  He has loved their mother.
I know he'll love this card I made for OUR anniversary.  He always teases me about it being MY anniversary, cause I get all the gifts!  It is true, he lavishes me.   He proposed to me on bended knee with this song playing in the background of a very public place.  My card fits several challenges around our cyber world, the SCS Limited Supplies, Sharon Johnson's no time72, and the Twisted Sistahs create a scene. I love that is uncomplicated...that it has depth, but is two layers, and it tells a story.
Least you think this was a fairy tale, I must admit I had to kiss a lot of frogs before my one and only...
