EDITING to add: This card was selected as one of two winners in the Jewel Tones Challenge
This time up is a color challenge over on the Moxie Fab World, this particular one is Jewel Tones. These colors sing to me in a mid century modern kind of way...I am thinking turquoise appliances and Cadillac DeVilles. Tweedy furniture in golds and purples. One got their information in a morning newspaper or the 6pm evening news with Uncle Walter across the airwaves as Dad
My card celebrates these lush colors and a simpler time. I am learning the value of pausing, how about
you?
Stamps: Judikins man and geometric 'rug'
Tim Holtz sentiment
Rubber Stamps of America window
Ink: Tim Holtz Antique Linen
VersaColor Black

ahhhh...love it! Great sentiment/quote...have a super weekend Susan!
yes...life was different back then....ya know...when retro was modern....lol.....in my retirement I definitely enjoy more 'pause' moments....and they are cherished......
love your retro/modern card
I certainly think you captured the retro feel perfectly - especially that carpet. The tweedy chair looks great too.
I like pauses. I'd miss my internet but we've survived 24 years without missing television, although any cable/satellite guys making door-to-door sales calls are always astounded that anyone can live without TIVO.
I love the retro look of this card. And although there is internet I love to read the newspaper.
It's good to take a pause and step back from everything. Time for reflection; what's really important?
I grew up without internet, cable tv and cell phones and I survived :)
Have a lovely day; stay warm!
Hugs,
Stella
Hey Susan! Thanks for entering the Jewel Tones Challenge in the Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week suite of six challenges in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)
this is awesome! (psst, you won!)
I saw your card over at Moxie Fab and just had to tell you how great I think it is. Congrats on your well deserved win!!
LOVE your card. I looked on the Judikins site and didn't see the man reading a newspaper. I'm so sad!! I wanted to try to find one to buy....
Congrats on your win! This card is so COOL!
Oh my. You won this challenge. While all the other winners were quite lovely, this stands WAY out, WAY out. And I must admit, as soon as I saw this I knew it was yours. You are one of a kind !!! Yup.
I love the sunshine, but you know I love the dreary old rain this time of year too. I saw some real leaves the other day ! The blossoms will be here before you know it.
In my youth I was better at pausing, now I just work. I need to get back to making a pot of coffee each day, and staring out the window as I drink. and think.
(We had our valentines day early, did a class at Pepperberries last night, oh the deliciousness ...)
Contests on your win, this card is awesome.
One of my favorite cards from last week's Inspiration Challenges ... your fantastic rooms are always inspiring ... and now you're Moxie Fab too .. Woot Woot!
